James McKernan (Director) is an expert on the MMP. His accomplishments include the proof of the existence of flips and finite generation of the canonical ring as well as the boundedness of varieties of general type and Shokurov’s conjecture on the ACC for log canonical thresholds. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society (2011) and he has been awarded the Clay Research Award (2007), the Cole Prize (2009), and the Breakthrough Prize (2018).

Caucher Birkar is an expert on the MMP. He is famous for proving finite generation of the canonical ring and the Borisov-Alexeev-Borisov (BAB) conjecture on the boundedness of Fano varieties. His research has been recognised by the AMS Moore Prize (2016) and the Fields Medal (2018).

Paolo Cascini is an expert on the MMP. His accomplishments include the proof of finite generation of the canonical ring and the MMP for foliations on threefolds. He was awarded the Sloan Research Fellowship (2008) and the AMS E. H. Moore Prize (2016).

Ivan Cheltsov is an expert in birational geometry. In particular he has proved many important results on the classification of Fano varieties, on birational rigidity, on the singularities of algebraic varieties in the MMP and on K-stability.

Christopher Hacon is an expert on the MMP. His accomplishments include the proof of the existence of flips, finite generation of the canonical ring, the minimal model program for threefolds in characteristic p > 5, boundedness of varieties of general type and Shokurov’s conjecture on the ACC for log canonical thresholds. He is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences (2017), the National Academy of Sciences (2018) and a Fellow of the Royal Society. He was awarded the Clay Research Award (2007), the Cole Prize (2009), the Feltrinelli Prize (2011), and the Breakthrough Prize (2018).

János Kollár is an expert on higher dimensional birational geometry with many seminal contributions to the subject including foundational work on rational curves in algebraic varieties, the MMP and moduli of varieties of general type. He is a member of the National Academy of Sciences since 2005 and he has been awarded the Cole Prize (2006), the Nemmers Prize in Mathematics (2016), and the Shaw Prize (2017).

Mircea Mustaţă is an expert on singularities of algebraic varieties. He used arc spaces, positive characteristic techniques, D-modules, and Hodge modules to study invariants of singularities. He was a Clay Fellow (2001) and a Packard Fellow (2006).

Giulia Saccà is an expert on hyperk ̈ahler manifolds. She is known for her work on Lagrangian fibrations and on singularities of moduli spaces of sheaves on K3 surfaces and other K3 categories. She was awarded the A. M. Molteni Award for Math and Physics (2017) and an NSF CAREER Award (2022).

Chenyang Xu is an expert on birational geometry. He is known for his work on the boundedness of varieties of general type, Shokurov’s conjecture on the ACC for log canon- ical thresholds, the MMP for threefolds in characteristic p > 5, and results regarding K-stability and the normalised volumes of singularities of algebraic varieties. He was awarded the ICTP Ramanujan Prize (2016), the Future Science Prize (2017), the New Horizons Prize for Early-Career Achievement in Mathematics (2019) and he received the Cole Prize in Algebra from the AMS in 2021.

Ziquan Zhuang is an expert on birational geometry. He is known for proving the higher rank finite generation conjecture, and for introducing the Abban-Zhuang method in K- stability. He was awarded the Clay Research Fellowship (2022) and the Sloan Research Fellowship (2023).
